Box

High brown sides
can’t see over, climb over

Can’t see under
Can’t dig

Stuck
in a box

the view never changes
brown and flat
I fling myself against it
anger and frustration leap out of my body

I crumple
exhausted
Stuck
stuck

I inhale deeply
searching for inner guidance
I close my eyes and see
blue skies, fresh air
a way out
I keep my vision here
as I wait for
the box to give up
and go away
